We have extensive knowledge and experience of designing and manufacturing bespoke DC motor-gearbox units for wheelchair power-assist, powered chairs and mobility scooter applications, which provide the mobility impaired with vital means of independence and freedom. We have also supplied products to manufacturers of access equipment such as steps, ramps and winches for vehicle access and short-flight wheelchair lifts.
Our high-torque, high-efficiency GB9 gearbox was designed specifically for mobility applications and is now supplied in volume across a number of other applications with similar control, speed and torque requirements.
We are also developing an innovative de-clutch gearbox, to enable easy disengagement of drive units from powered wheelchairs for when power packs or batteries run out of charge, thereby reducing the force required by the attendant carer to provide manual mobility to the passenger.
